  1. I think that this video is silly. However, I think this man makes a really good point. The shell of the lobster is confining to it, however, he is able to overcome how confined he feels. As we grow up, we become more and more confined because we think that we have limitations. This can relate to the limitations we think we have with our exercise. I hope that I can break out of my shell and do exercises that I am not as comfortable with without injuring my back even further.

  2. I feel like this relates to my PE and activity journey because you have to become a bit uncomfortable to improve. So that could mean sweating and being sore to get the healthy body you always strive for. I think this video has a good message.

  6. I loved the video, It moved me and It made me want to run to the gym. The lobster way of growth can relate to muscle growth from weight training. The muscle is put under a substantial amount of stress, it tears, and then rebuilds with the help of proteins, resulting in muscle growth. This is very similar to lobsters who are out under stress from the small shell, break through it, then form a new one. This can also relate to my physical activities and training. I know that if I want to see my desired mental and physical improvements, I need to put my muscles under a substantial amount of stress and persist through it. I know it will be hard and may not be fun, but it is what's necessary for me to improve. I have to overcome the adversity of fear and exhaustion so I can reap the rewards of physical excellence.

  7. That is a very unique way of saying that we grow through pushing past our insecurities. It reminds me of a saying that my band teacher always used to tells us, "get comfortable with being uncomfortable".

  9. I liked the video! I feel like this video was sort of related to my PE journey throughout life. I think this because the guy speaks of how crabs grow, mentions about how when crabs grow, their shell becomes very “confining” and when that happens, the crab becomes uncomfortable and under pressure.

This relates to my first physical education when I was about 10- to 11 years old when I wasn’t very active and I lived in Kelowna. I wasn’t I guess what you can call the most motivated person either when it comes to physical education. Later on thought I decided to get my attitude together and be the best in my class. Well guess what, that worked out pretty well! I entered the school track and field team program they had and I tried out and made the team because I was fast. I didn’t know this would be possible at the time because I wasn’t confident in myself. Lesson learnt, always get out of your comfort zone and try out something new.

  10. Stress is part of growing up because it makes us learn from our mistake. In the video, the presenter compare the lobster of how it overcome the difficulties of growing. It applies to how we learn from our day to day stress for it teach us new things that will eventually help us in the future.

  12. Stepping out of your comfort zone is hard but the benefits of that is you will learn new things that you think is not possible. With motivation and right attitude, everything is achievable if you believe in your self.

  14. This video reminds me that getting out of your comfort zone can really help you improve in a beneficial way. They way he's saying how crabs grow and how they have to leave their shell to basically move on, when the crab leaves its shell, the crab is very uncomfortable but learns to live with it. Stepping out of your comfort zone can make you try things that you would never do, but maybe you're really good at it and you'll never know unless you try. For me I used to do cheerleading and my mom asked if I wanted to join dance. I was kind of scared to at first and I wasn't comfortable dancing. but now I dance everyday and I get invited to different places around the world for dance. if I never tried dance I'm not sure where I'd be in life right now.

  15. I seriously did not expect a video about lobsters to be so deep, and this certainly does apply to me. I go through stress a lot, whether it's because of my personality or because I have a lot of things to do. I think when I go through stress, which is uncomfortable, I do feel like I don't want to change, but I certainly have to. This change does bring about growth and helps me grow stronger and wiser, I guess. So while this concept applies to life, I think it can also apply to the P.E. The stuff I have to do may be uncomfortable and different and I might not want to do it at first, but after I do it, I grow and become stronger and healthier.

  16. In order to grow as an athlete or individual you will feel uncomfortable and stressed. We as humans like to feel same and don't like change. If we get in a situation where we feel pressured or stressed we often back out and go back to our norm. I agree completely with what he is saying because as a athlete I know that it can be stressful when you are trying to grow stronger and faster.

  17. The video mean that in order to better yourself (or excel in a physical activity) you need to make small sacrifices. For example, even if you don't want to do something but it will reap benefits in the future, maybe it's worth it to be a bit uncomfortable. In elementary my teacher was explaining to the class that you need to step out of your comfort zone. She also said that everyone has their own personal comfort zone as to how far you should push yourself. I think that can apply to this video because people with different skill sets should each step out of their comfort zones individually instead of all doing the same amount of work.

  18. This video proves that just like lobsters, people also grow from adversity and stress. This is because if there's no stress then we could never grow. This concept is important in PE because if you only do easy exercises, your muscles would never grow and you can't get stronger. On the other hand, if you do harder exercises, there'll be muscle growth and therefore, you get stronger. As they say whatever doesn't kill you only makes you stronger.

  19. This video encourages people to find strength and use will power to overcome adversity in life. The speaker in the video uses the lobsters as an analogy for overcoming challenges in your life. This can be applied to fitness and exercise quite easily because in order to make muscle and improve your health you have to fight through pain consistently. You have to make the hard decision to power through your discomfort in order to succeed, even though you can easily lay down and relax.

  20. 1. I think the connection to the YouTube video “How do lobsters grow” relates to physical activity and your attitude is because if you do not stay motivated then you will see no change, when it relates to the lobster shedding his shell, if you are uncomfortable in your body you have the choice to do something about it and exercise and take care of your body. If you feel trapped in your body and do not stay motivated and do nothing about it then you will always be stuck in an uncomfortable shell. Staying motivated to break free is the best way that you can accomplish a personal goal.

  22. This video relates to physical activity in a way where it motivates us to stay uncomfortable to pursue our goals. If we stay in a comfortable state at all times, we would be sitting on the coach all day eating chips, but the discomfort of physical activity and pushing yourself to the limit keeps us striving for more, and also gives long term benefits.

  23. I like this video because it shows that we can't develop unless we go out of our comfort zone. We can't every improve at anything without practice

  24. As stated in the video, times of stress are also times that are signals of growth. I agree with this as to do anything in life and to achieve something great, one must move out of his/her comfort zone. We only know how capable we are only when we are faced with hardships. To grow and to improve, we should explore beyond. Try what you fear and you may come to love it! "No pressure, no diamonds"

  25. This video connects very much with an attitude in physical fitness. People often complain that excercise is tiring and stressful. But that's the entire point of excercise. If you don't stress your muscles, your muscles, like a lobster, will never grow. If you never go out there and make yourself tired or uncomfortable, both your physical and mental well being will also never grow. In order for growth to be acheived, you nedd to be stressed to some degree; That is how this video relates to attitudes and approaches to physical fitness.

  26. We tend to view adversity and stress as a negative thing when we are reaching toward our fitness goals. The hardest part of any fitness journey is getting started and finding the motivation to keep pushing yourself to continue. At times, we will struggle. However, if we change our attitude towards any difficulties we face, we may realize that they are not always a bad thing nor does it mean we have failed. It is only when we begin to step outside our comfort zone that personal growth and development occurs. Much like the lobster shedding off its shell, we too begin to shed off our old limitations and mindsets that kept us confined.

  27. How I think this video is reflecting to Physical education is when people complain about exercising and how hard and painful it is. That's the whole point of exercising is to build muscles and if you don't exercise your muscles wont grow and your body will tend to get weaker and weaker and time goes by.

  28. I like how he describes them being soft and squishy in a hard shell, with the shell not growing. I recall when I was riding horses each week that if I didn't do certain stretches before hand My legs and arms often were soft and swishy because when you ride for an hour each time, your training your legs and muscles to contract with the horses body. One stable I went too showed me how to also stretch out the horses legs and muscles too, to help them. If I did stretch , my body would become more adaptable and flexible allowing me to do difficult postures and formations in order to help me move with the horse and jump the more difficult jumps. It helped me form the muscles I have have in my body.

  29. We view stress as something terrible. That stress is never a good thing, and that we should do whatever we can to fix it. Although, most people never seem to look at the positive acpects of stress. Stress is a learning oppurtunity, and for a lot of people it also mitivate them. In relation to physical activity, stress or being uncomfortable means that you are growing as a person. This could mean trying a new workout, or using a new machine. After that experience - however uncomfortable you may have been - you will feel different because you faced your stress, or left your comfort zone. This is how the video relates to our attitude and approach to physical activity.

  30. I believe the correlation this video may have with physical education is that if you feel uncomfortable with your current self or you are noticing difficulties caused by your body, you need to positively impact your body whether it is eating healthier, gaining body mass or muscle, or simply going to the gym and participating in some sort of physical activity to help you think with a clear mind.

  31. I think this is an interesting analogy to use a lobsters growth cycle from its shell, and the reality to our own path of growth from adversity or stressful feelings. I agree with the statement in the video, ‘times of stress are signals to growth’. I feel like my old perspective of adversity was negative which in turn ruined my motivation to maintain a healthy routine and goals. staying in my shell hasn’t helped me achieve the goals that I have set for myself so I started to change the way I would handle adversity by looking at the positive in the situation and recognize that if I continue staying in my comfort zone, I would be robbing myself of growth and happiness.

  32. When I compare this video about the growth of lobsters and the pressure they feel to my physical activity. I can see that with my dance training the only way to grow and develop is when I'm under pressure to learn a new technique. I grow and develop after the challenge of pressure from myself and my teachers. I get stronger and more flexible from this pressure.

  33. I think that this video is truly relatable on many terms. In order to grow we must get rid of the old habits. As Albert Einstein once said "we cant attempt new problems with the same solutions we used before".

  34. I think that the connection to this video and physical education is that as he said, times of stress and discomfort can also be times of growth. Just like the lobster being under pressure and stress but also growing at the same time, people need to also feel that stress and pressure to realize that maybe it's time to get out of their own shell and comfort zone in order to be able to grow themselves.

  35. Interesting metaphor in this video. I interpret the message to be that it's important to push ourselves in different areas of our lives and step outside of our comfort zone. In terms of physical education I think it's saying that in order to succeed in developing fitness people need to go beyond activities they are comfortable with or used to. For example, if someone has only done running their whole life it's important to try new activities such as strength training to reach their full fitness potential.
